This was one of the best workshops I have ever attended! So much variety in shooting locations from sunsets, sunrises, abandoned towns and two incredible nights of astrophotography! Rock Light Photo tours planned a great itinerary and had the 'good spots' all scouted ahead of time. Though the schedule was busy, there was enough down time to recharge your batteries for your camera and yourself! Afternoon class time was great to get help with editing and to just share experiences in general. This is my third Rock Light Photo tour and I highly recommend them!

Great time on the Death Valley trip. It is such a pleasure to go to a new location and travel with Rock Light Photo. We can all do the research and figure out where to go, but it is so nice to release those reins and welcome each day with amazing locations. It is a great benefit to have knowledgeable trip leaders who know where to be and when. They even drove us to remote locations and back after shooting all night. They deserve a hero’s gratitude. Having knowledgeable leaders allowed us to make itinerary changes due to weather. Shooting in a workshop environment brings out the best in any photographer. Even if we are spread out, we are connected. Being surrounded by fellow photographers is inspiring. It is very different from being on a travel trip and running to catch up while taking that last shot. We are all on this trip to create! We all encounter technical or physical barriers when shooting Colin and Geremy were always available to lend a hand and offer excellent suggestions and considerations. I had a great time on my first workshop with Rock Light so I was delighted to have this second opportunity and look forward to another workshop in the not to distant future.

Rock Light Photo did a great job with this trip. They easily pivoted plans to adjust photo locations and times based on the unseasonable high temperatures (105 degrees F in March). Rock the Light was available for anyone with questions or looking for some tips. It was a pleasure to be in the company of several like minded photographers and to experience a few places in Death Valley that I had not been before.

I recently attended Colin’s Bryce Canyon photography workshop and couldn’t be more impressed. The entire experience was exceptionally well organized — Colin planned each outing so we were always in the right place at the right time for the best light and conditions. Even on a rainy day, he managed to turn it into a creative opportunity, and I came away with amazing images. I’m not new to photography, but I am new to landscape photography and I learned a tremendous amount during this workshop. Colin is a great teacher who clearly loves what he does. I left more confident in my technique, and very grateful to have found this workshop. Highly recommended!
